For the last several Christmases my sister has been making reindeer out of palm frond droppings. She loves giving them to nearly anyone and I love that she is partial to healthcare recipients. Health care workers, thank you for your service. She makes fronds our friends.

They are such a fun gift that make you smile and she is kind of obsessed about them. She has this thing for eyes. She spent a considerable amount of time getting the eyes just right. The eye look she came up with is the best feature. Never mind she makes 100 of them or more. Each eye has to be right. And she’s right. When it’s right you feel it. LOL.

This year I decided to paint “him” and name “him” Palmer. And Palmer had a little life its own… stay tuned. ( I’ll write about that in a different post. LOL)

Right around this time I was seeing trash on the ground in a way I hadn’t before and I started photographing it (see this post for back story) . I also was considering creating a painting of the photo. It had a freshness. (didn’t do that yet bc I got busy doing leaf art… LOL)

So that is where the story begins.

And just when I thought that the next time was the end of the story, the story kept going because the leaves kept calling to make leaf art.

There was so much encouragement and even a neighbor’s mom was in on this, coming up with the names of this “era” of mine. On her list was “Leaves Secrets” and for some reason I “felt” that one so I checked wordpress and Wha- Lah

So I am going to show it, tell it and hopefully someday sell it all here (lol) . These are the Leaves Secrets.
