Before I heard the Leaves Secrets

On one of my walks, I had run into a neighbor of mine and I asked her if she knew anyone who could help me with a project I am working on and we ended up with such a lovely conversation and we realized she was the one to help. At the end of my walk on that September day , I looked down and this is what I saw:

Weeks later, as I started noticing trash/street art, I took pictures of some of these because I loved the contrast of colors, material, nature vs manmade etc. As I was listening to Your Brain on Art on audible, I realized that I have been under the influence of it’s words and I was not even really aware. I do know I had the influence of an a few artist friends that shape my point of view. I have seen countless trash on the road and I have seem some of it as beautiful. It’s just that this time I photographed and shared it. It’s like I was wondering, hey, can you see this? This is something to see.

I took photos of other trash too. This blue and yellow theme at the hosptial has special meaning for me because I seek out yellow and blue things because those are the colors of down syndrome. One of my daughters has down syndrome so naturally I love all things yellow and blue.

Then when I saw the yellow leaves over the yellow paint at the lake near my home, I took notice in a new way.

And I also pondered the story behind the smashed beer can. LOL

Leaves and trash suddenly had all my attention in a very different way.

They started to be my paints.
